Deadly Stampede at New Delhi Train Station Kills at Least 15

A devastating stampede occurred at a New Delhi train station, claiming the lives of at least 15 individuals, including 10 women and three children. The tragedy unfolded on Saturday evening due to overcrowding caused by delayed train services and an influx of passengers.

According to Deputy Commissioner KPS Malhotra, the situation rapidly spiraled out of control for approximately 10-15 minutes. Many victims were en route to the Maha Kumbh Mela, a massive religious gathering in Prayagraj.

This incident follows a similar stampede at the gathering, resulting in dozens of fatalities. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed distress and offered condolences to the victims' families, praying for the injured's swift recovery.

In response, authorities deployed four trains to evacuate the station and dispatched police to restore order. The situation is now under control.
