Wreaks Havoc on Southern Ontario
A powerful winter storm has brought significant disruptions to Southern
Ontario, with over 20 cm of snowfall reported in some areas. The storm has
caused widespread road closures, travel delays, and hazardous conditions.
According to Environment Canada, the winter storm warning remains in
effect for most of Southern Ontario, with residents advised to stay indoors and
avoid travel unless necessary.
The city of Hamilton has been particularly hard hit, with over 25 cm of
snowfall reported. The city has declared a state of emergency and deployed
crews to clear roads and sidewalks.
Residents are being advised to exercise extreme caution when traveling
and to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary. The city is also urging
residents to check on vulnerable neighbors and to report any concerns to
authorities.
The winter storm is expected to continue throughout the day, with
temperatures dropping even lower overnight.
